Edaphic fauna affects soybean productivity under no-till system

چکیده

This study aimed to evaluate the relationship of edaphic fauna under a no-tillage system with different levels soybean productivity [High (NTH), Medium (NTM) and Low (NTL)] in west Santa Catarina (Brazil), identifying which chemical physical variables most affect them, best indicators that can be used. Native forest (NF) areas were used as reference. A total 207 samples soil collected by monolith pitfall trap methods over two years evaluation four municipalities. Based on data, Shannon-Wiener (H’), Pielou (J), Dominance (D), Margalef Fisher Alpha (?) indices generated, addition average richness abundance. Data from NTs submitted analysis variance compared Tukey's test (p > 0.05). The NF was reference agriculture Dunnett 0.05), regressions between diversity indices. H’, Margalef, ? indices, for sampled monoliths followed gradient NTH NTM NTL, showing positive correlation increase productivity. has index similar NF. Soybean is affected fauna, but abundance not sensitive predicting treatments no-tillage; Fisher's alpha more treatment separation monoliths. environmental aluminum, organic matter, phosphorus, potassium penetration resistance edaphic.

Crop Residue Removal and Soil Productivity with No-Till Corn, Sorghum, and Soybean

Crop residues have been considered during the past decade as alternate energy sources to supplement dwindling fossil fuel sources and enhance energy independence in the United States. Agricultural scientists have demonstrated the importance of crop residues in reducing soil erosion, enhancing the soil physical environment for plant growth, and as a reserve for major crop nutrients. In eastern N...

Evaluation of Delayed Glyphosate Burndown in No-Till Soybean

Application of a preplant or preemergence glyphosate burndown is routine in most no-tillage production systems of annual crops, however, time of application may influence overall weed control and grain yield. Six field trials were conducted over a three-year period (2008, 2009 and 2010) near Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada to determine the effect of glyphosate burndown application timing in glyphosa...

Residual effects of potassium placement for conservation-till corn on subsequent no-till soybean

Biannual surface application of potassium (K) fertilizer prior to corn (Zea mays L.) in a corn–soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) rotation has been common in conventional-till crop production in North America; however, whether this traditional K management practice is effective for soybean when both corn and soybean are grown with conservation tillage is largely unknown. This study evaluated the ...

Variable Rate Application of Potassium Fertilizer for Soybean Crop Growth in a No-till System

Variable rate application of fertilizer has the potential to improve nutrient use efficiency, improve economic returns, and reduce negative environmental impacts. The objective of this study was to evaluate the variable rate application of potassium fertilizer to soybean crop in a no-till system. The study was conducted on a 13-ha soybean grain field in Carambeí, State of Paraná, Brazil in a Ty...
